Blood Donation Camp, Mizoram University,2019


Blood donation camp was organized in 11th October 2019 at the auditorium, Mizoram University. It was organized by the Students Council of Mizoram University in collaboration with National Service Scheme, red ribbon club and HDFC Bank.

The day started with a pledge taking ceremony, organized for the first time in continuation of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birthday anniversary, where all the heads of academic and administrative, along with all the students brought their own water bottle in support of the initiation taken by plastic free campus coordination of Mizoram University in their campaign to make Mizoram University free of one time /single used plastic bags and package drinking water. The pledge “I pledge to avoid single use plastic, to re-use or recycle the plastic that I do use, to educate others about plastic free campus.”

After the ceremony the main event, Blood Donation program was started at 10:30 am at the auditorium of Mizoram University. Each donor was given refreshment and a place to rest. The Blood Donation was quite successful that it could be seen from the total number of donors 334 students.

The organizers made a multiple prize winner on this occasion and this have been given department wise accordingly as the following:
1.      Best Participation:
1st prize mathematics- Rs 5000/-
2nd prize Psychology- Rs 3000/-
Consolation prize:
Industrial Chemistry – Rs 500
Mass Communication Rs 500
Food Technology Rs 500
2.      Best Donors:
1st prize – Mizo- Rs 5000/-
2nd prize- Economics- Rs 3000/-
Consolation prize:
Clinical Psychology- Rs 500
Commerce- Rs 500
Political Science- Rs 500
All the prize winner were given certificate on the 7th of November 2019 at the closing function of the Mizoram University Inter- Department Sport
