MASS COMMUNICATION PH.D SCHOLARS PARTICIPATED IN “NORTH-EAST YOUTH CONCLAVE” AT TEZPUR UNIVERSITY





“NORTH-EAST YOUTH CONCLAVE” organized by Department of Mass Comunication and Journalism, Tezpur Univeristy, in collaboration with Ghandi Smiriti & Dar Shan Samiti was held at Tezpur University, Assam on 6th to 8th September 2019.  

The Theme of Youth Conclave Program was – “Role of the Youth in contributing towards a culture of peace and non-violence” which focused on empowering youth to participate in peace building and non-violence movement in North-east India.

The program was attended by different Universities from the North East Regions of India including our very own PhD and Phil Scholars  of Mass Communication Department and Sociology Department, Mizoram University.

Resource persons from different parts of the world came and gave lectures on Peace building and Non-violence. As a part of the main program, the participants from different universities were divided into groups and they work together as team by addressing issues in the society using the theme of the program through an effective traditional form of media i.e Drama. The topic of the drama competition includes- 1) Racism 2) Witch Hunting 3) Cyber Crime and 4) One India

On the last day of the Program, each groups presented their proposal as mentioned through Drama on the topic of Peace building and Non-violence, Cultural evening program also took place in which participants from different states present their own traditional dance, folk tales and songs.
The Mass Communication scholars, Mizoram University also had the chance to visit the Mass Communication Alumni (name) who are currently pursuing their PhD in Mass Communication at Tezpur University, Assam.
